Welex Incorporated today announced a new state-of-the-art manufacturing facility will go online in mid-February in Greenville, North Carolina. Corporate offices, including key management and engineering personnel will remain in Blue Bell, PA, while a satellite corporate office/meeting facility will be located in the Greenville facility.
Frank Nissel, president of Welex comments on the move, "The global demand for sheet extrusion systems has become so significant that we felt our current manufacturing facility would not allow us to properly develop the extrusion systems in a cost effective and timely manner. The move to Greenville is a perfect blend of “smart” manufacturing space coupled with a location that affords us a better opportunity to reach a far greater number of customers from a more strategically situated facility. Greenville airport and the Newport News seaport are both conveniently nearby. We couldn’t be more pleased with the entire setup and anxiously look forward to going back online in mid-February."
To bridge the gap between the Blue Bell and Greenville locations both facilities will be equipped with closed circuit internet monitoring, webcams and conference capabilities to allow for live interactions among both locations. “We wanted to ensure that we could maintain real time communications with manufacturing, corporate and customer visits, which is why we allocated additional capital expenditures to develop a system that would allow us to have visual and verbal communication access at all times”, continued Mr. Nissel.
